The educational forum accompanying the International School Games (Bahrain 2024) begins today, Thursday, at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. This event features experts and specialists in sports, education, and health, focusing on the role of school sports in promoting youth development and the values of sustainable development.
His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the tournament, will deliver the opening address, followed by Mr. Youssef Belqasmi, representing the International School Sports Federation.
The forum includes three key discussion sessions. The first addresses “Developing Youth Skills through Sports” with the contribution of expert speakers. The second session will cover “Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle for School Children”, and the final session focuses on “Sustainability and Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through Sports in Schools.”
Dr Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, will close the forum with a speech emphasising the crucial role of school sports in achieving sustainable development.
