The Bahraini Chess Team is intensifying its preparations for the International School Games, scheduled to take place in Bahrain from 23 to 31 October. The team comprises 22 male and female players, led by coach Ahmed Mohsen, and supported by administrative staff Mohammed Adel Al-Banki and Ali Abdul Nasser Al-Sahaf.
The male players are: Abdulaziz Omar Al-Faqehi, Abdullah Al-Sawaeer, Ali Hassan Haider, Hassan Asad Allah, Hussein Ali Al-Wardi, Hussein Wahid, Karim Omar, Marwan Ali Al-Binali, Mohammed Abdullah, Saeed Al-Bani, Sayed Hashem Hashem, and Youssef Ahmed Al-Sayegh.
The female players include: Dania Osama Obaid, Dania Al-Arayed, Fatima Mahmoud, Lilian Hussein, Malak Ahmed, Maram Hadi Al-Moussawi, Maryam Ali, Reem Luay Al-Salman, Sarah Ahmed Dashti, Sondos Osama Obaid, and Zainab Al-Salman.
Preparations began three months ago under the technical team’s supervision, with the focus on assessing player performance. The team has also participated in various international tournaments, which have enhanced their readiness for the competition.
The chess competitions will be held at the American University of Bahrain between 25 and 29 October. The Bahraini team hopes to achieve outstanding results, given the high level of participation from renowned international teams.
