Wafa Al-Jazzaf, Head of the Volunteers Committee for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), confirmed that the committee continues its intensive efforts to train volunteers and equip them with the necessary skills to ensure the event’s success. Al-Jazzaf mentioned three remaining workshops to complete the training sessions, which have been held since last June. These workshops cover a range of essential areas such as organisation, communication, and first aid, combining theoretical and practical training programs.
She emphasized the importance of these workshops in preparing volunteers for this unique experience. The workshops aim to enhance volunteers’ skills and equip them with the tools necessary to tackle various challenges during the event.
Al-Jazzaf also announced that a leadership meeting will be held next Saturday, gathering over 60 team leaders to discuss work plans and assign tasks. She pointed out that this meeting will serve as an opportunity for exchanging ideas and experiences among the leaders, thereby strengthening coordination and effectiveness in their work.
She further elaborated that 1,174 volunteers have been enlisted so far, with 80% of the task of distributing them across various committees—such as organisational, logistical, marketing, and media—already completed. The volunteers will be assigned roles based on their skills and interests, ensuring that each committee’s needs are effectively met.
Al-Jazzaf highlighted the committee’s dedication to meeting the various needs of the organising teams, stating, “We are doing our utmost to present an outstanding image in this event, which represents a great opportunity to highlight the passion of the Bahraini people for volunteer work.” She added that teamwork and cooperation among the volunteers will be key to the event’s success.
She concluded by expressing her pride in the participation of volunteers from various ages and professions, which reflects Bahrain’s commitment to volunteer work and active involvement in major events. “The passion shown by the volunteers embodies the true spirit of Bahrain, and we are excited to see their positive impact during the event,” she remarked.
Al-Jazzaf also stressed the importance of volunteerism in fostering social ties and building a solid community, expressing her hope that this event would be the starting point for more volunteer initiatives in the future.
