Abdul-Ridha Ashouri, Chairman of the Accommodation Committee for the International School Sports Games, hosted in the Kingdom this month under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, emphasized the committee’s increased work pace to secure all requirements and needs according to the plan of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the school event. This is aligned with the work of the Executive Committee, chaired by Mr. Ali Issa Ishaqi, in pursuit of complete readiness before the official launch of the global competitions, ensuring the organizational success for which our Kingdom is renowned during its hosting of various sports events.
He clarified that his committee, in coordination with the Secretariat Committee, has compiled a list of participating countries and the number of athletes involved in the Games, alongside the sports they will compete in. This is essential for mapping out the Accommodation Committee’s work, aimed at securing housing for all delegations, including athletes, coaching staff, referees, and guests of the Kingdom, while also identifying arrival and departure times for delegations to manage accommodation effectively.
He continued that the number of hotels designated for participants in the international Games has recently increased based on the expected arrivals in Bahrain, ensuring that their accommodation meets international standards according to the Executive Committee’s work plan. He noted that participants will be accommodated by country, with a specific hotel allocated for each participating country based on the size of its delegation. Most of the selected hotels are located within the capital governorate, which offers all necessary services and is close to the facilities that will host the competitions.
Furthermore, members of the committee will be assigned to the hotels designated for participants in the International School Sports Games to facilitate matters for all participants, guide them, and overcome any difficulties. He emphasized that committee members will be permanently present at the tournament hotels to ensure all participants’ needs are met and to guarantee the comfort of the delegations, reflecting the Kingdom’s reputation in sports hosting.
He also mentioned that the past period has seen coordination meetings with committee members to secure all needs and ensure the smooth operation and organization of the event. Additionally, meetings with hotel officials have been held to review preparations and reserve venues for meetings of the participating delegations, along with using all hotel facilities.
