The 3×3 basketball competitions began yesterday at the “Bahrain 2024” International School Sports Games, hosted on the open courts of Isa Sports City. Bahrain’s teams experienced a mix of results in their matches.
Bahrain Team (5) earned a well-deserved victory over India with a score of 14-4 but fell short against Slovenia (1) in a close match, finishing 10-13. Bahrain Team (2) displayed a strong performance, defeating Chile 9-4 before encountering a setback in their match against Thailand, losing 6-14. Meanwhile, Bahrain Team (6) secured a narrow win over Croatia, ending the game at 11-9.
In the women’s competitions, Bahrain’s team defeated Saudi Arabia with a solid 13-7 but faced a challenging match against China, concluding with a score of 0-21. Bahrain Team (3) encountered a defeat to Chinese Taipei with a score of 9-18, while Bahrain Team (1) also lost to China, finishing 7-21.
Bahrain Table Tennis Teams Make Steady Progress in Ongoing Competitions
The table tennis competitions continued at the tournament, held in Hall B at Isa Sports City.
By the close of the second day, Bahrain (1) advanced to third place in Group One, securing three wins and suffering two losses over the past two days. In Group Three, Bahrain (2) finished the day in third place with a similar record of three wins and two losses, while Bahrain (3) concluded in fifth place, recording one win against four losses.
Meanwhile, Bahrain (4) ranked sixth in Group Two, achieving one win against four losses, and remained in sixth place in the overall standings with no additional wins recorded by the end of the second day.
