Bahrain hosts the General Assembly meeting of the International School Sports Federation.
Yesterday, the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the General Assembly meeting of the International School Sports Federation, welcoming delegations from 92 countries at The Art Amwaj Hotel. During the opening, His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, delivered Bahrain’s speech, conveying greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He expressed gratitude for His Majesty’s high patronage of this international event.
In his address, the Minister welcomed the International School Sports Federation delegation and all participating delegations. He emphasized that Bahrain’s leadership fully supports the belief that sport unites different cultures, builds bridges between societies, and fosters mutual understanding.
Mr. Youssef Belkacemi, Vice President of the International School Sports Federation (ISF), praised Bahrain’s successful hosting of the event and its commitment to bringing together this large number of delegations. He also acknowledged Bahrain’s excellent facilities, which demonstrated its capability to host major international events.
Dr Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Schools and Universities, reiterated Bahrain’s focus on developing sports in educational institutions, noting the leadership’s role in this area. He highlighted how the conference provided a key platform for exchanging successful experiences and reviewing updates from member states.
After the opening remarks, the agenda for the meeting was launched, with active participation from all delegations. The minutes of the previous meeting, held last year in Mexico, were approved, and the ISF’s budget for 2024 and 2025 was discussed. Additionally, presentations were made on upcoming ISF activities, with input and suggestions welcomed from members representing different countries.
