The Executive Committee of the International School Sports Games (Bahrain 2024) held its coordination meeting, chaired by H.E. Ali Issa Ishaqi, with the presence of committee members to discuss the preparations and developments related to the event.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ishaqi conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, to all committee heads. Ishaqi reviewed the latest achievements and assessed the progress of the working committees involved in the event. A detailed explanation was provided on the final preparations of the committees and the comprehensive readiness to host the games, with just about two weeks left before its commencement. The meeting also reviewed the committees’ needs for the upcoming period, with the aim of reaching full readiness before the start of this major school sports event in the Kingdom.
The Chairman of the Executive Committee expressed his satisfaction with the work being done by the committees and the level of preparedness Bahrain has achieved for hosting the event. He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts in the coming period to reach full readiness, which reflects the Kingdom’s reputation in hosting various sports events.
Ishaqi revealed that the number of registered participants so far has reached 5,651, representing 80 school federations from 70 countries, which exceeds the required number set between the International School Sport Federation (ISF) and Bahrain, initially set at 4,000 participants. He also confirmed that 21 hotels, rated 4 and 5 stars, have been selected to accommodate the participants, ensuring all necessary facilities are in place for welcoming the sports delegations.
Ishaqi reviewed the number of sponsors participating in the event and highlighted key upcoming activities, including the arrival dates of the delegations. The readiness of the sports venues and facilities was also confirmed, with the General Sports Authority working to ensure that the sports facilities are fully prepared to meet the event’s requirements.
The meeting discussed the progress of the various committees and their needs to ensure the success of the event. Ishaqi emphasized the importance of doubling efforts and ensuring cooperation among all committees to achieve common goals.
