His Excellency Mr Ali Isa Eshaqi, Chairman of the Executive Committee for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), convened with the esteemed delegation from the International School Sports Federation. This meeting was a crucial step in the meticulous preparations for hosting the largest event in international school sports history, scheduled from 23-31 October 2024. Also in attendance were Mr Madden Al-Wanas, Chairman of the Technical Committee, and Mr Abdul Redha Ashouri, Chairman of the Housing Committee.
The delegation, welcomed by Mr Al-Wanas, expressed admiration for Bahrain’s advanced sports facilities and infrastructure. During the meeting, discussions focused on joint cooperation to ensure the tournament’s success. Mr Eshaqi emphasised that this event is an opportunity to strengthen cultural and sports ties between the participating countries.
The meeting also covered a detailed schedule for inspection visits to the sports facilities where the competitions will be held. These visits ensure the venues are ready and equipped to host the teams and players worldwide.
The delegation was provided with a comprehensive update on the progress in various aspects of the organisation, including team registrations, competition schedules, and logistical plans. Mr Al-Wanas, in particular, highlighted the unwavering commitment of the technical committee to ensure that all events are organised to the highest international standards, thereby assuring the participants and officials about the quality of the event.
A clear agenda was established for field visits and further meetings with the tournament’s committees to enhance communication and ensure the smooth progress of preparations.
