The Organising Committee of the International School Federation (Bahrain 2024) has unveiled the official mascot, the “Dilmun Falcon,” a symbol that reflects the ancient Dilmun civilisation. The falcon is renowned for its intelligence, agility, and sporting excellence, flying majestically over Dilmun, a key trade hub of the Arabian Gulf with its capital at Bahrain Fort.
The light-blue coloured mascot was revealed during a splendid opening ceremony at the Bahrain National Stadium, Isa Sports City, last Thursday. The event saw the attendance of distinguished guests, official delegations, and representatives from participating nations. The “Dilmun Falcon” not only showcases Bahrain’s deep-rooted heritage but also represents core sporting values, making it an inspiring symbol for young athletes.
With 5,515 athletes from 71 countries across the globe, the International School Games has become one of the largest school sports events in history. It offers participants a unique opportunity to compete in various individual and team sports, including football, swimming, and athletics, thereby promoting international camaraderie and cultural exchange.
This edition of the Games runs until 31st October and will feature numerous sporting events alongside cultural activities aimed at fostering sportsmanship and mutual understanding among the athletes. The competition also provides young athletes with the chance to gain valuable experiences and build lasting friendships with peers from other nations.
