The International School Games “Bahrain 2024” organising committee has announced the event schedule under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The games will open on October 24 at Bahrain National Stadium, Riffa, followed by competitions involving over 5,000 participants from more than 70 countries across 26 sports, enhancing Bahrain’s global reputation.
Several facilities, including Isa bin Rashid Halls and the surrounding area, will host key sports such as karate, taekwondo, 3×3 basketball, Paralympic events, beach volleyball, judo, and weightlifting. Khalifa Sports City will also host athletics and shooting, with the American University of Bahrain hosting aerial and rhythmic gymnastics and chess. Other venues, such as the Handball Hall in Umm Al Hassam and Al Ahli Club, will accommodate sports like handball, boxing, and fencing.
In addition to the competitions, cultural programs such as “Night of Nations” and “Cultural Day” will enhance the participants’ experience, promoting interaction between youth from diverse backgrounds. These events reflect Bahrain’s efforts to establish itself as a regional and international sports hub while fostering local talent through exposure to international athletes.
