The Kingdom of Bahrain concluded its participation in the Gymnasiade 2024 with an impressive fourth-place finish among Arab nations and thirteenth globally. Bahrain’s school sports teams earned a total of 66 medals—13 gold, 21 silver, and 32 bronze—demonstrating the strength and versatility of Bahraini athletes across various disciplines.
Brazil led the global rankings, securing first place with a remarkable 164 medals, including 53 gold. The People’s Republic of China followed in second place with 90 medals, 39 of which were gold, while Chinese Taipei took third with 79 medals, including 35 gold.
Romania ranked fourth internationally, achieving 107 medals, with 28 gold, followed by Iran in fifth place with 47 medals, including 26 gold. Ukraine claimed sixth place with 71 medals (24 gold), and Azerbaijan took seventh with 77 medals, including 23 gold.
In the eighth position, Hungary collected 62 medals, including 20 gold. The United Arab Emirates ranked ninth with 47 medals (17 gold), and Morocco rounded out the top ten with 44 medals, including 16 gold.
Other Arab nations also performed admirably: the United Arab Emirates finished in ninth place, Morocco in tenth, Algeria in twelfth, Bahrain in thirteenth, Saudi Arabia in twenty-fifth, Oman in twenty-ninth, Kuwait in thirty-sixth, Qatar in thirty-seventh, and Egypt in thirty-eighth.
