Bahrain’s national table tennis team is intensifying preparations for the upcoming International School Games, which will be hosted in Bahrain this October. The team, comprising 16 players across five teams, is fully committed to achieving solid results. Under the guidance of coaches Ji Nyong Lee, Rami Al-Naddai, and Slobodan Taskovic, the players undergo rigorous training to ensure peak performance.
The squad includes diverse talents, from young athletes who have proven themselves in local and international competitions to more seasoned players. The technical staff has developed a comprehensive plan to elevate the players’ skill levels, improving their technical and tactical abilities. The coaches are confident that their training regime will prepare the team to represent Bahrain effectively on the international stage.
Abdul Jaleel Al-Asfoor, general supervisor and board member of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association, highlighted this tournament’s significance, stating, “Our main goal is to deliver a strong performance and achieve positive results that reflect Bahrain’s reputation in the sporting arena. We believe this tournament will provide a fantastic opportunity for our players to gain valuable experience by competing against teams from various countries, which will help them grow and improve.”
Al-Asfoor emphasised the tournament’s importance in the players’ development, stating, “Participating in such a prestigious tournament enhances the players’ skills and prepares them for future competitions. By competing against different playing styles, our players will gain valuable insights to elevate their competitiveness, ensuring a solid investment for their sporting future.”
He added, “The coaching staff is intensifying the players’ daily training sessions to ensure they are in top condition for the tournament. We fully believe the players’ abilities and potential to showcase Bahraini table tennis at its finest.”
