The team, featuring talented players Mohammed Khalil, Mohammed Faisal, Hussein Al-Samahiji, and Khalil Al-Khan, advanced to the quarter-finals after a hard-fought 19-16 victory over Jordan in the round of 16.
In the quarter-finals, Bahrain faced a strong Italian team, ultimately exiting the competition after a 16-9 loss. In the final, Brazil narrowly claimed the gold medal over Italy with an 18-17 win, while Slovenia won the girls’ gold by defeating Nigeria 16-14.
Bahrain Beach Volleyball Secures Ninth Place
The Bahrain (1) boys’ beach volleyball team finished in ninth place, displaying notable skill and resilience throughout the tournament. The duo, Ali Sultan and Ali Yaqoub, ended their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Slovenia, with set scores of 21-18, 11-21, and 15-8. In the finals, Hungary (1) claimed the gold in the boys’ category with a straight-sets victory over Ukraine, while the U.S. girls’ team took gold by defeating Puerto Rico in two sets.
Table Tennis Campaign Concludes for Bahraini Players
Bahrain’s table tennis team wrapped up its participation after exiting in the round of 16. Player Mansour Majeed faced a challenging match against China’s Chan Xuanyi, while Hussein Bousafwan was defeated by Romania’s Dragos Alexandru. Mohammed Al Ali also saw his journey end after a match against England’s Isaac Frank Kingham in Hall B.
