The Bahrain table tennis team has made impressive strides toward the final rounds following standout performances in the singles competitions held on Tuesday in Hall B at Isa Sports City.
Mansour Majeed progressed to the quarter-finals after a hard-fought win against Bulgaria’s Vashev Presyan, with scores of 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, and 11-5. Majeed is set to face China’s Chan Xuanyi in a highly anticipated round of 16 match today, Wednesday.
In another strong showing, Hussein Bousafwan secured a victory in the round of 16 over North Macedonia’s Alexander Jakimovski with scores of 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, and 11-6. Bousafwan will now compete against Romania’s Dragos Alexandru in the quarter-finals.
Mohammed Al Ali advanced comfortably, achieving a commanding win with scores of 11-0, 11-0, and 11-0 in the round of 16. He will face England’s Isaac Frank Kingham in the quarter-finals, aiming to reach the semi-finals and add to Bahrain’s achievements.
The tournament concludes today, with Bahrain’s team hopeful of continuing their success and advancing to the final rounds.
