Bahrain Team (2) is set to continue its impressive journey in the 3×3 basketball competition as the Gymnasiade 2024 reaches its conclusion today, Wednesday, at the Isa Town Sports Stadiums. In the round of 16, Bahrain will face the Jordanian team at 10:20 a.m., with high hopes of securing victory and advancing closer to a potential medal.
Bahrain Team (2) earned its place in the round of 16 after winning six out of seven matches. Their recent victories included a 17-4 win over Croatia, a 16-8 win over Bahrain (6), and a 15-3 victory against Nepal (4) in the matches held on Tuesday.
The boys’ round of 16 today also features other exciting matchups, with England taking on Saudi Arabia, France competing against Nigeria, Brazil facing Slovenia 2, the People’s Republic of China up against Algeria, Romania versus Chile 2, North Macedonia against Benin, and Chinese Taipei challenging Italy.
Following these matches, the competition will advance through the quarter-finals and semi-finals, culminating in the final match to crown the tournament champion.
In the girls’ division, final round matches will also take place today. The People’s Republic of China will meet Thailand, Benin will face Estonia, Nigeria will play against England, and Romania will compete with Italy. Additional matches include Slovenia 2 versus India, Slovenia 1 against Brazil, Ukraine versus Chinese Taipei, and France facing Uganda.
