The Bahrain badminton team delivered strong performances in Monday’s competitions at the “Bahrain 2024” Gymnasiade, held in Hall D at Isa Sports City.
In the boys’ singles category, Nasser Al-Nakhas stood out with an impressive victory over Emirati player Khalifa Al-Mazrouei, winning 21-4, 21-6. Meanwhile, Barani Bala faced a challenging match, narrowly losing to the Czech player Marek Kassa.
The girls’ singles presented tough challenges for Bahrain, as Sara Amini and Noor Hassan were defeated by competitors from the Czech Republic and India, respectively.
In the mixed doubles category, the duo of Sripamini Sudheeran and Alin Bejosh celebrated a victory over the Indian team with a score of 21-18, 21-12. Another Bahraini duo, Nasser Al-Nakhas and Noor Hassan, also triumphed by defeating the UAE team.
In the girls’ doubles, Adwiya and Durra Al-Khabbaz shone with a hard-fought win against the UAE team, concluding their match 21-18, 20-22, 21-18. In the boys’ doubles, Alin Begosh and Alin Thomas secured a win over the Emirates team, while Nasser Al-Nakhas and Sayed Ibrahim Hassan faced a setback against Chinese Taipei.
