The Bahrain School Table Tennis Team has finalised its roster for the International School Games “Bahrain 2024”, held under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, from October 24 to 31. The roster includes 16 players divided into five teams: Ahmed Al-Raqqaq, Ali Al-Shaghl, Ibrahim Khalil, Hussein Ali, Hussein Bousafwan, Jassim Ali, Majid Hashim, Majid Mansour, Muhammad Khan, Muhammad Al-Raqqaq, Muhammad Al-Ali, Muhammad Al-Ashiri, Sayed Ali Ibrahim, Sayed Hassan Hussein, and Youssef Hassan. The team will be supervised by coaches Ji Nyong Lee, Rami Al-Nidai, and Slobodan Taskovic.
Team manager Abdul Jalil Al Asfoor confirmed that the team is fully prepared for international competition and expressed optimism about the team’s performance. He noted that this tournament presents a golden opportunity to interact with elite international teams and will help develop the players’ skills for future competitions.
Al Asfoor highlighted the intense competition expected, as teams from countries well-established in the sport, such as Romania, Brazil, Uganda, India, China, England, Azerbaijan, and others, will be participating. These teams will push the Bahraini team to perform at their best levels.
He emphasised that the Bahraini players aim not just to participate but also to compete for advanced positions and leave a lasting mark on the tournament, reflecting Bahrain’s growing presence on the global sports stage.
